Firearms Training Classes Held Every Month.

 Central Ohio Concealed Carry Training Classes (Ohio CCW) 
Using the NRA training methods, this  course provides hands on learning opportunities in the following areas with 10 hours of classroom instruction and 2 hours on the range to give you experience safely handling and shooting a handgun:
  • safe firearm handling
  • Ammunition included for qualification
  • Handguns are included, you do not need to bring a gun
  • review of Ohio's Concealed Carry Publication
  • learning firearm parts and operation
  • the ability to name explain, and demonstrate the rules for safe handling of a gun and the proper storage practices for handguns and ammunition
  • explain and demonstrate proper handling of ammunition and its function
  • shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range with live fire experience
  • ability to demonstrate and explain the knowledge, skills, and attitude to shoot a handgun in a safe manner
  • how to select, clean and store a firearm
  • review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills
  • Cost is $150 includes all training materials, ammunition and the free use of our handguns.  You do not need a handgun to take this class.  All Classes include the optional membership in PRO and the NRA, no additional cost to you.

NRA certificates of completion are awarded to participants who successfully complete basic course.  This is your certificate of competency required to obtain your Ohio CCW - concealed carry license.

 NRA Instructor Training Classes - All Classes include the optional membership in PRO and the NRA, no additional cost to you. Individuals wanting to become Instructors must be prepared to teach to the general public the basic knowledge, skill, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a firearm using NRA programs and adhering to NRA policies.
 

Since 1871, a major objective of the National Rifle Association has been to provide education and training in the safe and proper use of firearms.

 

The NRA is looking for new instructors who enjoy working with people, want to share their firearm knowledge and skills with others, and are willing to make a commitment to teach NRA training courses in their communities.

Central Ohio CCW sponsors 2-3 NRA Instructor classes per year.  the next class is scheduled for:

Completion of a hunter education course is required for all first-time hunting license buyers in Ohio (ORC 1533.10).
